What if?

Some say a picture is worth a thousand words, in this case it’s a thousand thoughts. We used to own this property before we sold it to my parents. Today I was working on their mower and had to see if it was working correctly so I just started mowing our old yard. It didn’t take long for a lot of old memories to come back.

I built these little hills when I dug out our pond, I planted those apple trees, I dug the trench for that faucet. This was nothing but a field when I started.

Then came the “what if” thoughts. What if I didn’t quit my job three and a half years ago? What if we didn’t go on the road as a full time volunteers ( yes volunteers ) with our ministry helping people after disasters? How many people have we helped after others said no, we can’t do that job? How many people have we seen saved and came to know Jesus because we were there and said “yes, we can help with that”. It’s bringing me to tears just thinking about “what if I said no when God led me to make this choice?” Who would have helped those people? What if God had to choose someone else to get His plan done?

Ohh the things we would have missed out on!!! Yes we have definitely had our struggles along the way. Our faith was put to the test so many times. So many times that first year we wondered where the money would come from for our personal bills. It seemed so crazy at the time. On paper there was no possible way for it to work financially. BUT GOD!!! Now we don’t even think about where the money will come from. It always shows up when we need it. The last three years have been a roller coaster for sure but I wouldn’t trade this life for all the money in the world. We get to be right there and see God work not only in the lives of the people we help but in our little ministry as well. We know without a doubt we are doing exactly what God wants us be doing and there is nothing else that we would rather be doing with our lives.

Not sure why I just stopped to write this out. I’m still sitting on the mower out in the heat. 😂. I definitely did not write it to shine any light on what we do. I guess someone needs to read this today. Someone needs to know that if God is in it, anything is possible!!! You just have to have the faith to hold on and let Him work it out!!
